Ingredients

Build the layers
  • 0.25 cup grenadine syrup Use chilled if available; pour slowly to keep layers distinct.
  • 0.5 cup lemonade, chilled Keep cold so it doesn’t bleed into the grenadine layer.
  • 0.25 cup blue raspberry sports drink or blue raspberry lemonade, chilled Chill thoroughly; float gently over the spoon to form the top layer.
  • 1 Ice cubes Fill the glass almost to the top for better layer separation.
  • 1 Maraschino cherries and striped straws for garnish Add on top right before serving; don’t stir after garnishing.

Method

Layer the drink
  1. Fill a tall clear glass with ice cubes almost to the top.
  2. Pour grenadine syrup slowly over the ice so it sinks to the bottom as the first layer.
  3. Hold a spoon just above the ice and gently pour chilled lemonade over the back of the spoon to create a clean middle layer.
  4. Using the same spoon method, pour the chilled blue raspberry drink over the back of the spoon to float it as the top layer.
  5. Garnish with a maraschino cherry and a striped straw, then serve immediately without stirring.

Notes

For the sharpest separation, make sure the lemonade and blue raspberry drink are very cold and pour each layer slowly over the spoon back. Store covered in the refrigerator up to 24 hours, but note the layers may blend over time; for the cleanest look, assemble right before serving. For a lighter option, replace grenadine with a reduced-sugar version to cut added sugar without changing the layering technique.
